Tips to Clean a Bathroom

Cleaning the bathroom might not be everyone’s morning cup of coffee. However, it is a necessary thing to do and the more often that one does it, the easier it gets over time. Below are a few tips that would make the process easier and even enjoyable:

 

1. Remove Everything that doesn’t Belong There

One of the reasons why cleaning the bathroom seems like an uphill task is because it is sometimes so cluttered that it discourages one form cleaning. To make the work easier, you need to start by removing everything that doesn’t belong in the bathroom, from cups and containers that are lying around there. You may need to also move the movable objects like cabinets so that you can clean under them.

 

2. Pour Bleach/Disinfectant in the Bowl

Next, you will need to pour some disinfectant in the toilet bowl and leave it for a few minutes for it to work its magic. It is also advisable to leave the cleaning brush inside the bowl so that it can also be disinfected and sanitized for cleaning. When using bleach, it is always important to ensure that you open windows, doors, and the fan, if it is available as the fumes of the bleach, may not be good for your health.

 

3. Dust the Place

The next step is dusting the place. When cleaning, is always advisable to start with the easier tasks as you proceed to the much harder one. You’ll need to start with removing the cobwebs and dusting the walls. Let all the dirt fall to the floor so that you can sweep it later. You may use a duster for this, and if you don’t have one, a broom can also be used. For those who have bathrooms with sensitive wallpapers, you can wrap a toilet paper or a cloth on the bristles of the brush can get the clean gently. You can also slightly wet the cloth for better results.

 

4. Cleaning Floors and Tubs

When it comes to cleaning the floors and bathtubs, you will need to apply a scrub powder on the dirtiest areas and those that are hard to clean. Before applying the scrub powder, ensure that they are damp enough. You can leave it for a few minutes as it gets soaked in the surface. This time can now be used to scrub hard the toilet bowl which is now well soaked in the disinfectant. After thoroughly brushing the toilet, you can flush it and observe that there are no spots that are left. After that, you can use a wet, but not dripping cloth to clean the outer surface of the toilet.

Once you are done, you will need to scrub the floors and the other surfaces that were soaked in scrub powder. It is always good to ensure that the products used will not harm the surfaces.

 

5. Cleaning the Walls and Windows

Lastly, you can use a cleaning spray for the walls and the windows. Just like the floors, ensure that the product used will not damage them. If they are not very dirty, a clean spray and a wet cleaning cloth should do the trick. If there are some spots left, you may want to concentrate on hose using some small brush and then wipe it off using the cloth.
